This weekend, my boyfriend and I decided we needed a break from the city, so we headed to Jocotepec for some much-needed rest and relaxation. We stayed at Villa Armonia, a charming hotel that connects you with nature in the most serene way possible. Just an hour from Guadalajara, it was the perfect escape for us to unwind and recharge.
Our weekend at Villa Armonia Jocotepec was the perfect blend of relaxation, nature, and indulgent experiences, just an hour from Guadalajara.
From the moment we arrived, we felt at peace. Villa Armonia’s setting is surrounded by nature, and everything from the design to the ambiance makes you feel like you’re in a calm, secluded haven. Our room was cozy, but the highlight was definitely the outdoor jacuzzi and pool—the perfect temperature for a relaxing soak after a long day.
We started our evening with a bite to eat. Cristina, served us an aguachile and guacamole that were beyond delicious! Afterward, we had our 90-minute deep tissue massage that was included in our reservation, and let me tell you, it was magical. The therapist was incredible, and the environment was so soothing with aromatherapy, calming music, and even a bit of thunder from the storm outside, which somehow added to the atmosphere.

Your imagination, our creation
For dinner, we drove just five minutes away to Vita Bella, a local restaurant with a cozy vibe. We started with mejillones al vino and a beet and watermelon salad, followed by the most tender carpaccio de res. The stars of the meal, though, were the jamon serrano pizza and shrimp Alfredo pasta—absolutely delicious!
The next morning, we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast of chilaquiles (included in our stay) before taking a short walk and soaking up the last bit of our peaceful surroundings. We couldn’t resist another dip in the pool before checking out and heading back to the city.

From my boyfriend's perspective, Villa Armonia Jocotepec offered the ideal escape, with its peaceful atmosphere, amazing food, and the most relaxing massage we've ever experienced.
If you’re looking for a place to truly disconnect from city life and reconnect with nature, Villa Armonia is the perfect spot. It’s just a short drive from Guadalajara (near Ajijic and Chapala), and the quality for the price is amazing. We left feeling rested, rejuvenated, and ready to take on the world again. This little getaway reminded us just how important it is to take a step back and enjoy the simple pleasures—nature, great food, and each other’s company.
